What does it mean to fast according to the Bible?
You might say, “What is fasting?” or “What does it mean to fast according to the Bible?”
Fasting is a spiritual discipline that comes with a promise of hope.
While fasting is a way to pray harder it is not a way to force God to act or move according to our wills
The heart of fasting is about seeking God for satisfaction instead of the things on Earth. Fasting is replacing what satisfies us physically with a tie with God, for a specific time and a specific purpose.
Fasting is about giving up the thing you seek for satisfaction in order to draw near to God, allowing God to satisfy you.
The Benefits of Fasting and Prayer
The benefits of fasting and prayer can not be stressed enough. By giving up something in your daily life for a time, you are reminded often to pray. More prayer creates a hunger for God that will answer many prayers.
Seeking God more fervently over the real issues of your life draws you nearer to God, and opens your spiritual ears so that you can hear God’s voice more clearly. That is why you need a book on fasting and prayer!
Miracles Through Fasting and Prayer
Many people claim to have experienced miracles through fasting and prayer. Do you believe in miracles? People being healed, clear answers to prayer, financial breakthrough, unity in marriage and other relationships are all miracles. We serve a God who is still in the miracle-performing business.
Draw nearer to Him through prayer and fasting and find out for yourself!
Fasting for Spiritual breakthrough is a powerful and effective tool in the life of a Christian. The power of prayer and fasting can not be overstated!
Fasting for Spiritual Breakthrough
There are many times I don’t need a miracle perse, but I am dry spiritually:
- I can’t hear God’s voice
- I need direction
- There are situations that need guidance in my life
- Peace is missing and I need that
- I feel hopeless or I’ve lost my joy
Fasting for Spiritual breakthroughs is a powerful and effective tool in the life of a Christian. The power of prayer and fasting can not be overstated!
The spiritual breakthrough comes when we draw near to God. When you set aside something you enjoy to attain it you find that breakthrough faster. But learning the ins and outs of fasting can be overwhelming which is why I recommend a book on fasting and prayer! There are many books about fasting but often they overcomplicate the subject. That is why I wrote this short simple book to help you get started.
The Complete Guide to Fasting: A false promise
Many books claim to be “The Complete Guide to Fasting” but that is a false promise. Fasting is simple, yet complicated in many ways. Fasting is personal, so no one can tell you what type of fast will be best for you. You must spend time in the Bible to learn the ins and outs of God’s will for your life, pray over what to fast from, and then learn by doing!
Fasting is a spiritual discipline you learn by doing. That is why I wrote this book as a beginner’s guide to fast and pray. As you practice fasting you will learn and grow in the discipline and in your walk with God. You will develop a hunger for God and the things of God and it will lead you into a deeper maturity.
There are many books on prayer that you can use as companions on your journey. Check these out.
