Feelings and emotions often rise up inside of me. Even knowing Jesus is my Rock.
Lonely. Hopeless. Worn. Hurting. Empty.
These are emotions I wrestle with – even as a Disciple of Jesus. Can you relate?
How do we fight back against this overwhelming flood?
Fix our mind on God who is our everlasting Rock.
What does that mean “Our everlasting Rock”?
Let’s take a trip back in time – somewhere between the 13th and 15th century B.C. Imagine you are among the multitudes of Israelites who have just experienced miraculous proof of God’s Love and pursuit of them.
You’ve seen Frogs and gnats beyond numbering, insane weather, water turned to blood everywhere but in your home.
What might you feel as you begin walking through a wilderness to an unknown land?
Fear. Exhaustion. Wonder. Confusion. Homesickness.
There must have been so many emotions.
