How To Pray to God My Provider in Faith

Do you think of faith and finances as going hand in hand?  For most of my life, I didn’t apply the word faith to my Finances.  I planned, budgeted, worked longer hours, pinched every penny…  Firmly planted in the school of thought that said You work or you starve.  If you are having hard times?  Pull yourself up by your bootstrap and make the best of it.  Can you relate? 

God has been wrecking me about this for years.  You see, He called me to quit my career and live on one income while I Stay At Home to raise our little Blessings.  Living on one income has required Faith.  But because we knew God called us to live this way we were able to step out in Faith believing Him to provide.

Hebrews 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.

Last week I shared some the Ways God has built my faith in God My Provider through this season.  Along the path I also learned there are some powerful ways to seek God for Financial Provision and Blessings.

This is my process.  I’d love to hear from you if you do something different 😉

How To Pray for Financial Provision:

Step 1.  Check your Heart

Are you walking in obedience (as much as you are aware of) to the calling God has in your life?  Just ask Him and I promise He’ll shine His light on anything out of life 😉

Have you checked your need / want with the Bible to be sure it’s in line with God’s will? (I wouldn’t ask God to fund sin for example)

Step 2.  Pray in Faith

Hebrews 11: 1-2 Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.  For by it the men of old gained approval.

God blesses our faith in amazing ways.  If you are struggling with faith in Jehovah Jireh – the God who Provides – Try listing the things God has answered in the past.  You will see your faith grow!

I love that even when we don’t have that full measure of Faith He hears us.

Mark 9:23-25 Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!”

Step 3 Pray Scripture

Y’all know I am a fan of praying scripture.  When we pray the word of God we can be sure it is in the Will of God!  I’ve pulled verses about Financial Blessing and would love to give them to you!  Just drop your email below 😉

Step 4.  Ask Others to pray with you

There is power in numbers and humility (which God honors)!  Don’t be afraid to share the need with a friend and ask them to pray!  We’ve seen some amazing results from this.  Sometimes those friends step in to fill that need (Which is a blessing to them more than us in so many cases!)!!!!!!

Step 5.  Wait on the Lord

This might seem self-explanatory, but Y ‘all it is tempting to try to answer our own prayers instead of waiting patiently on the Lord.  I’ve done it more times than I can count and it always messes things up!

Step 6.  Consider a Time of Fasting

Fasting is like Praying Harder when you desperately need to hear from God.  Check out:

Step 7. Give God the Glory when He answers

When God answers tell the world how Amazing He Is instead of writing it off as coincidence or timing!
